 FyreWrap® Elite® 1.5, a long-standing passive fire protection solution for ductwork in the US, is now tested and approved for use in major markets around the world. Unifrax has recently conducted significant testing to the new European Norm Standards, and the Australian Standards as well as securing approval from several countries and emirates throughout the middle east. This testing combined with the previous testing for the I-Codes positions FyreWrap® Elite® 1.5 to meet the needs of the vast majority of construction markets.

Description

FyreWrap® Elite® 1.5 Duct insulation from Unifrax is a flexible insulation wrap designed for creating fire protection enclosures for building ductwork systems.
Thin, lightweight and easy to install, FyreWrap® Elite® 1.5 systems offer significant savings in installation time and overall system weight. The flexible product form facilitates efficient installation where access to the duct is limited or located in close proximity to other building services.
FyreWrap® Elite® 1.5 has been tested and approved for use in a number of different countries and approvals cover a range of duct types including HVAC, pressurization and kitchen extraction systems. Approvals include ASTM, BS, ISO, EN and AS.

PRODUCT COMPONENTS

Core Material: Low Bio-persistence wool. Totally inorganic and exonerated from classification under Nota Q of EU Directive 97/69/EC.
Encapsulation Scrim: Full encapsulation with an aluminium foil/glass fibre reinforced aluminized polyester scrim. The scrim provides additional handling strength in addition to providing protection against moisture absorption.

Unifrax’s FyreWrap® Elite® 1.5 Duct Insulation is a single layer flexible duct wrap enclosure for 1- and 2-hour fire-rated air distribution systems (ADS ducts). Typical duct types include smoke control, hazardous exhaust, laboratory chemical fume, stairwell and vestibule pressurization, ventilation, supply/return ducts, commercial dryer exhaust, as well as refuse and linen chutes. This slim, compact design is an alternate to code prescribed fire-rated shafts and results in significant weight, space and labor savings when compared to traditional shafts.

Unifrax’s FyreWrap® Elite® 1.5 Duct Insulation is a two-layer flexible enclosure for two-hour rated commercial kitchen grease ducts. FyreWrap® Elite® 1.5 Duct Insulation is tested per ASTM E2336 and is acceptable as an alternate to a traditional fire-rated shaft. Installed as a two-layer system, FyreWrap® Elite® 1.5 complies with the International Mechanical Code (IMC) and Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC).
